YekoYeko became disabled after suffering from childhood polio, but his spirit remained strong. Yeko is an artist and successfully supports his family through his craft business. In a culture where disability is often stigmatized, Yeko is a shining example of perseverance and character. He actively advocates for the rights of disabled Ugandans and works to educate his countrymen about the worth of disabled individuals. Widows in Uganda are susceptible to exploitation and the children of widows are most likely to become orphans. These women are fighting back by using their skills to run a successful business.
