Our Mission

Ornaments 4 Orphans is a fair trade social enterprise dedicated to providing critical support for orphans and vulnerable children in Africa. We use ethical and sustainable practices to advance their society by creating jobs, fighting poverty, preserving families, and empowering impoverished communities. 100% of our profits are invested back into the communities we work with through trade and charity.

The fair trade items we sell are handcrafted by local artisans that are employed by Ornaments 4 Orphans. We pay them a reliable income that provides them with food, housing, clothing and the medications they need. Because of our efforts and those that support O4O, we are continually improving their standard of living, their education and their future.

Featured Artisans

Widow's Co-Op

Behind every Ornaments 4 Orphans Stuffed Animal Ornament is a Ugandan widow working to support her family. Widows are susceptible to exploitation and the children of these widows are most likely to become orphans. But these artisan women are protect-ing themselves and their children by using their skills to run a successful business.

Disabled by childhood polio, Yeko is an accomplished artisan and entrepreneur who supports his family through his craft business. In a culture where disability is often stigma-tized, Yeko exemplifies perseverance and character. He advocates for the rights of those that are disabled and educates others about the worth of disabled individuals. He is fond of saying, “Disability is not inability.” Ornaments 4 Orphans is pleased to offer Yeko’s Ugandan Bark Cloth Hut Nativity and Ornament.

Charity Partners

Since 2005, Pearl Ministries has partnered with Ranch on Jesus Ministries, a Ugandan NGO that operates a primary school, crisis children’s home, and family services program. ROJ emphasizes strengthening families, resettling orphaned children with relatives, and providing educational scholarships for the most vulnerable children.

Currently, the majority of our support goes to BRICK, a Pearl campaign to build a new primary school at Ranch on Jesus. You can learn more and give at www.pearlministries.org/brick.

The mission of Abide Family Center in Uganda is to provide family-centered support to reduce the number of vulnerable children entering institutional care. The organization provides a safe temporary living and learning center for at-risk caregivers and their children. Their staff of social workers supports each family with the goal of moving them to-ward independence and away from dissolution. Learn more at www.abidefamilycenter.org.
